Sage Mode takes some parts of Jiraiya’s character and transfers them into Naruto in the most amazing way possible. The red cape lined with black at the bottom makes a great accent to the Shippuden outfit. The giant scroll gave the outfit some weight and in the end, the eye shadow made the whole outfit work.
Naruto in this outfit can be seen marking an important hook because it appeared after Jiraiya’s tragic death. This costume not only pays homage to the great ninja, but it also shows Naruto’s affection for him during his fight against Pain.
